EVANGELIST KAREN C. DARBY
Sunrise April 10, 1964 - Sunset August 31, 2012
KAREN CYNTHIA DARBY was born to the late Mary Ganoris Darby and Willie James Wilson on April 10, 1964.
KAREN attended the Philadelphia public school system graduating for the Creative of Performing Arts in 1982.
KAREN was employed for various companies People for People and presently KRA Corporation until she became ill. Karen work for Bishop J. Fitzgerald Adams of Temple of Love Christian Center for over 20 years as his personal Administrative Assistant. She also worked for Resondoe (Earl) Bradley CEO of the Bradley Foundation as his Administrative Assistant. Karen was known for her excellent writing skills. She had a way with the pen.
KAREN accepted Christ at an early age attending the Greater Exodus Baptist Church. Karen served as a Missionary in various churches: Fellowship Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop Robert Taylor Sr., The Light House under the leadership of Bishop Kevin Morrison.
KAREN was presently a member of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop Hezekiah Walker serving in the capacity of Evangelist. Evangelist Karen Darby joined LFT on 7/25/2010. She immediately began to put her hands to work as the lead consultant in the LFT Christian Book Store where she served our members with love and a smile. Evangelist Darby was committed to her Senior Pastor and Leader, Bishop Hezekiah Walker and served faithfully within the ministerial board.
Prior to her passing, she began working on a curriculum that included Adjutant Training and Church Protocol, areas in which she was an extraordinary teacher.
On any given Sunday you were sure to see Evangelist Darby laugh, smile, sing, praise, worship, and dance in the most extravagant heels and prayer veils, all for the Glory of God. Her joy was infectious. Evangelist Darby loved people and people loved her. She had a unique and genuine way of making everybody feel special and wanted by offering words of encouragement and Godly wisdom. She didn’t hesitate to express how much she loved her church and how much she considered it a blessing to be a part of the Love Fellowship family. One of the main things she always made clear was that she LOVED Bishop Hezekiah Walker. She would tell it to any and everybody who would listen, no matter how many times she may have already told them! With great joy we witnessed her example of Christian Discipleship and faithful servant hood unto the Lord. Evangelist Karen Darby was a significant and vital asset to the Kingdom Church family who will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten.
KAREN began using her gift through song at an early age singing with various church choirs as well as professional choirs and groups such as Philadelphia Youth Mass, Philadelphia Mass, Triumph, Lance Holloman and Joi, David Winslow Singer and Kevin Pringle and the Children of Israel.
KAREN was a fun, caring and a genuine friend to all who knew her. When in her presence, she would always bring a smile to your face with her sense of humor.
In 1997 God Blessed Karen with a precious jewel, her Daughter Terriyah Vinee’ Darby they were inseparable and every moment they spent together was special and treasured.
KAREN was a classy lady with impeccable flair for fashion, whether at work, church, or shopping at the mall from head to toe she was always put together WELL, A True DIVA she was.
KAREN leaves to mourn her memory her Loving daughter Terriyah Vinee’ her siblings James C. Wilson, Pastor Willie Wilson Sr., Elder Jeffery Wilson, Vincent Wilson, David W. Wilson, Bernard Wilson she was preceded in death by 4 sibling Willamae Tabourne, Althea Douglas, Alan Wilson and Conrad Wilson a host of God children, nieces and nephews. Her spiritual brother's Resondo (Earl) Bradley and Elder T.A.Davis. Her spiritual mother Ann Woodberry, her devoted Friend Eunice Beeks, Bishop Hezekiah Walker and The Love Fellowship Tabernacle church family, a numerous amount friends and extended family.
Dear Mommy,
I loved, love and always will love you more than anyone in this world. You loved me unconditionally as a mother should. You were a mother that nobody could ever compare to. You had the biggest heart, smile, and sense of style. Flowers were your signature. Remember when I was little and wore big dresses and ruffle socks to church every single Sunday? That was because of you, the bomb.com diva. lol! Your shoes were always on point with every outfit that you had. You had style, so here I am to send you to the gates of heaven today. Mom you sharp! As I continue my journey in this life I will never forget the kind of mother that I had (loving, caring, protective, happy, etc.) that’s who you were. Oh yeah, I’m not gone forget that powerful voice sent from GAWD! Lol! I love you so much mommy. I’m gone let you rest in peace as you always wanted me to do. You gone smile down on me because I’m going to do a good job and make you a proud parent and keep that style that you always had. I’m going to miss you mommy.
