STEPHEN Hoston III

Obituary of STEPHEN Hoston III

Stephen Hoston III was born on February 16, 1992 to Charriba (Featherston) Gordon and Stephen Hoston II. Stephen spent a short time in the North Carolina school systems but spent the majority of his school career in the Philadelphia school systems where he would graduate from Frankford High School in 2011.   While in high school Stephen got his first job as a cashier at Rite Aid, he would later use those earnings from Rite Aid to assist his older sister Brittany Featherston with her firstborn Nasir Featherston.  Stephen loved being an uncle and took pride in helping his sister. Stephen always wanted to help people so when Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of the US Steve didn’t hesitate to pack up and e emove to Texas to help clean and rebuild homes.  He would stay in Texas for four years where he would forge bonds and rediscover his passion for music.  He completed his first music video “2Gether” which was dedicated to his best friend Kevin Johnson he also wrote a few rap songs such as “60 Shadows” and “Went Crazy” under the rap name Kas Kasicus. Steve returned back to Philadelphia with hopes of returning to Texas to continue his pursuit of music. Stephen’s latest job was at General Flange & Forge and this job ended up being his favorite job. Stephen would come home from work praising not only the owners but each and every coworker at that site. He had so much respect for everyone he really saw a future with this company.   Stephen was known as being funny, friendly and generous with a huge heart.  Stephen would give you the shirt of his back or the last dollar out of his pocket.  His favorite line was “I got you” and in his case he truly meant it.  Stephen helped so many people get off the “streets” by getting them jobs or just giving them a listening ear.   Stephen loved his nieces and nephew there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.  He would organize game nights for the girls and invite not only his nieces but his girlfriend’s nieces just so they would have a safe place to be children.  He would spend one on one time with his nephew and tell him how when he moved Nasir was moving with him.   But we all knew Nyssa was his favorite aka “Do The Do” he was known as Uncle Daddy due to the fact that when Nyssa was a baby and a toddler he always had her by his side.  Nialise was his prissy princess he said she was going to be a “problem” in other words a heartbreaker. Stephen and his sister Brittany had a special bond.  Growing up they would fight each other hard.  At times their mother would spank both of them for fighting each other and say “Save that for the outside people.” Brittany was her little brother’s protector whenever someone messed with Steve aka Stevie’s Brittany would come to the rescue and would later be known as “Tyson” because she fought hard for her brother. The last fight she had for Stevie was with a boy bigger than both her and Stevie and when she came home with a ripped shirt and crooked ponytails she said “that was the hardest fight of my life,” though she won that fight she told her brother he was going to learn how to fight that day and learn not to back down to bullies.   Stephen has a younger brother Andre and they were in the midst of rebuilding their relationship.  His brother will surely miss his big brother.  Stephen has bonus siblings his step sisters Latanya, Brittany and Bianca, though they were not blood siblings they treated each other as such and they each have their own sibling secrets and antidotes and funny stories about their brother who would annoy them and make them laugh at the same time.  Stephen just recently met his bonus niece Kendall. He traveled to Maryland to be with his bonus sister Brittany and played with Kendall all weekend.  They were looking forward to spending more time together.  To Stephen his family and friends were priceless. On March 15, 2022 Stephen Hoston III was tragically struck down.  It was a senseless act that no one will ever understand.  On that day he passed a hero with his last breath he saved a six-month-old baby from getting hurt.  His girlfriend’s nephew who survived without a scratch thanks to the loving arms of Stephen. The baby’s sisters were present also and by the grace of God they were not hurt.   Stephen was proceeded in death by his Maternal grandfather Clifford Andrews, Paternal Grandmother Jacqueline Hoston, Paternal Grandfather Stephen Hoston.  He is survived by his mother Charriba (Featherston) Gordon, his father Stephen Hoston II and his bonus mother Tanya Bradsher and bonus Grandfather Ted Garriss. His sister Brittany Featherston, brother Andre Hoston. Nephew Nasir, nieces Nialise and Nyssa, bonus sisters Brittney Thomas, Bianca Thomas, LaTanya Thomas and bonus niece Kendall.   Stephen also leaves behind girlfriend Nadiyah Tolbert and a host of Uncles, Aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
